Guidelines for Shipping Containers
Delta Cargo offers shipping containers that are specially designed to help control the costs of packaging and transportation for you and to improve security for all of us. Read more below to learn which containers are compatible with our aircraft, the size of our cargo bins, and the types and sizes of our available containers.
Note that we will accept palletized shipments if they are properly restrained.
Delta’s Off-Airport ULD Program
Customers must be registered with a specific Delta Cargo station in order to remove an empty or shipper-loaded ULD (container or pallet/cookie sheet) from that station.
Guidelines for Shipper-Built Half Pallets
Please follow these guidelines so that half pallets are properly secured and safely transported on our aircraft:
- Cargo on the half pallet must be built to a minimum height of 63″, with at least 50% of the top surface area built to this height.
- Half pallet cannot be vertically restrained on all four sides within the cargo compartment.
- Height and top surface requirement precludes vertical movement of the half pallet in the cargo hold.
- Pallets that do not meet this height requirement must be rebuilt or refused for transport.
